Serving Athens families through Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA since 1953

Athens County Scouting brings families together through outdoor adventure, leadership, and service.  From Cub Scouts discovering the basics of teamwork to Scouts BSA learning independence and confidence, our Pack and Troops provide opportunities for every youth to grow and lead.

When the Water Rises

Recent flooding here in Athens County is a reminder that even familiar roads, creeks, and neighborhoods can change quickly. Scouting teaches us to Be Prepared. Not just by carrying the right gear, but by learning to stay calm, make good decisions, recognize danger, and help others when it is safe to do so. We may not always know what challenge is coming next, but we can work every day to become the kind of person others are glad to have beside them when it does.

In Athens County, Scouting 53 gives youth the chance to explore, learn, and lead, from Cub Scouts discovering the excitement of their first campfire to Scouts BSA conquering a high ropes courses and taking on new challenges. Every experience builds confidence, teamwork, and courage, showing that great adventures begin with simply saying, “Let’s go!”
